Sandwell Council are excited to recruit to a Best Start in Life Administrator.

You will provide high-quality, efficient and customer-focused administrative support to the Best Start in Life Family Hubs, with a focus on the SEND Service and support effective partnership working across education, health, social care and community services.

The postholder will contribute to delivering a responsive, professional and confidential service, promoting positive outcomes for children with SEND and their families while ensuring compliance with organisational procedures, data protection requirements and service standards.

  • Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Actively promote the Best Start In Life Family Hubs offer, encouraging families to register with and access their local Family Hub, signposting them to available services, activities and support programmes that can improve outcomes for children and families.
  • Act as a first point of contact for families, professionals and partner agencies, responding to enquiries and providing information and signposting.
  • Support the administration of the under-5's autism assessment pathway, including coordinating and collating information from the Inclusion Support Early Years Team, from families, Early years settings, Family Hubs, Health professionals and partner agencies to support the diagnostic process and ensure that assessments progress efficiently.
  • Support monitoring, reporting and performance activities to ensure services meet local and national Best Start in Life objectives.
  • Respond effectively to enquiries and communications from internal and external stakeholders through email, Microsoft Teams, telephone, and face-to-face contact.

Requirements

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics at Grade C/4 or above.
  • A recognised Business Administration qualification (e. g. NVQ Level 2/3 in Business Administration) or equivalent experience in an administrative/business support role.
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Experience of dealing with enquiries from customers, professionals or members of the public by telephone, email and in person.
  • An Enhanced DBS Check is required for this role.

Fixed term contract that is due to end on 31st March 2029.
