We are excited to announce that we are now looking to recruit three Pastoral Tutors to join our supportive and passionate Pastoral team. These are full-time, term-time only positions (39 weeks), reporting to the Programme Achievement Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people by guiding and supporting them through their academic journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver weekly tutorial sessions to your assigned cohort, focusing on personal development, safeguarding, and academic progress.
- Monitor attendance, punctuality, behaviour and achievement, providing one-to-one reviews and appropriate intervention support.
- Act as a key point of contact for students encountering challenges both inside and outside of college.
- Work closely with parents, support staff, teachers, and external agencies to ensure students receive the right guidance and support at the right time.
- Contribute to college events, enrolment, careers support, and exam preparation.
- Participate in curriculum and pastoral trips throughout the year, such as visits to Winter Wonderland and university open days.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
- Experience working with young people in an educational setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and administrative abilities.
- Confidence presenting to groups and delivering tutorial content.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and student tracking systems.
- A collaborative and flexible approach to working with staff and external partners.
- A clear understanding of student support and progression routes.
