Sandwell College are currently seeking a motivated individual to join our IT & Network team on a full-time basis to support the design, installation, and maintenance of a range of security and access technologies. The successful candidate will add to the dynamic of a thriving and supportive team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the design, installation, configuration, maintenance, monitoring, and operation of security systems.
- Respond to requests relating to these systems, including compiling evidence for security incidents and conducting routine system checks.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding and data protection requirements.
- Technically support the systems and work closely with safeguarding and security teams.
- Liaise with external suppliers and support wider IT and networking tasks, including cabling.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience across both IT and physical security systems while making a real impact in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Self-motivated, results-driven individual with technical skills and qualifications to support security and IT systems.
- Ideally hold an SIA CCTV badge, manufacturer accreditations with security or cabling providers, and at least a Level 2 qualification in a relevant technical subject.
- Proven experience installing and configuring security equipment, fault finding and resolving issues.
- Experience working with security management systems and helpdesks, and installing and maintaining structured cabling systems.
- Experience in maintaining accurate records, asset management, and previous work within an education setting would be an advantage.
- Strong teamwork skills are essential, but should also be confident working independently to achieve results.
