We are currently seeking passionate and dedicated Lecturers in Travel, Aviation, and Hospitality to join the vibrant Travel & Tourism department at Sandwell College, based in West Bromwich. This is a full-time position available until the end of the 2025/26 academic year. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver a range of Travel and Tourism subjects, with the flexibility to teach across Levels 1 to 3, in line with the college’s curriculum aims and objectives.
- Work closely with management, colleagues, and students to support success and positive outcomes.
- Foster strong partnerships with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Lead on course tutorship and share your industry knowledge.
- Create valuable opportunities for students, including arranging work experience placements.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in the Travel and/or Tourism sector to help shape the future of our department. We are seeking motivated professionals with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage, inspire, and support learners of mixed abilities. The role may also involve participating in residentials and enrichment trips.
An academic background in Travel, Tourism, or Aviation would be highly desirable, along with a recognised teaching qualification at Level 5 or above. We are looking for individuals who can bring passion and enthusiasm to the classroom and truly inspire our students.
Teaching Qualifications & Salary Banding
To be eligible for our Qualified Lecturer salary banding (£30,583 - £46,263), you must hold one of the following teaching qualifications:
- DTTLS (Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
- Certificate in Education
- PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education)
- DET (Diploma in Education and Training)
- DiT (Diploma in Teaching) – if for a vocational subject
If you do not hold one of the above qualifications, you will fall into our Unqualified Lecturer salary banding (£25,611 - £28,817).
