We are seeking a motivated and experienced Plumbing Lecturer to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. In this pivotal role, you will play a key part in the delivery and development of high-quality plumbing courses, contributing to the growth and success of our department and supporting the next generation of skilled professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • This position involves carrying a teaching timetable in line with the agreed contract, while contributing to the continuous improvement of teaching, learning and assessment practices.
  • The successful candidate will be committed to supporting students in achieving positive outcomes and ensuring a high-quality educational experience at Sandwell College.
  • The role may also involve working collaboratively with external agencies, industry partners and local employers to ensure our provision remains relevant and responsive to the needs of the sector.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • The ideal candidate will hold a degree and/or a relevant professional qualification related to the subject area, along with a Certificate in Education or a Level 5 teaching qualification.
  • You will have proven experience of delivering excellent teaching and learning, preparing and evaluating effective learning materials, and delivering relevant qualifications.
  • A strong understanding of key skills and functional skills is also essential to support our students’ success.

Teaching Qualifications & Salary Banding

To be eligible for our Qualified Lecturer salary banding (Β£30,583 - Β£46,263), you must hold one of the following teaching qualifications:

  • DTTLS (Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
  • Certificate in Education
  • PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education)
  • DET (Diploma in Education and Training)
  • DiT (Diploma in Teaching) – if for a vocational subject

If you do not hold one of the above qualifications, you will fall into our Unqualified Lecturer salary banding (Β£25,611 - Β£28,817).
