We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Lecturer in Multi-Skills to deliver high-quality, engaging teaching across our Construction department. This role is ideal for someone passionate about sharing their industry expertise and supporting learners to develop the skills and confidence needed to succeed in their chosen trade.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective teaching across Multi-Skills programmes in line with curriculum and awarding body requirements
- Contribute to curriculum planning, design, and ongoing development to ensure courses remain relevant and innovative
- Prepare schemes of work, assessments, and learning materials that promote achievement and progression
- Maintain accurate academic and administrative records, ensuring compliance with college quality standards
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- A degree and/or relevant professional qualification in Construction or a related trade
- A Certificate in Education or Level 5 Teaching Qualification (or willingness to work towards one)
- TAQA/D32/33/A1 qualification (or willingness to achieve)
- Experience of delivering high-quality teaching and learning in a Construction or Multi-Skills setting
- Knowledge of key skills or functional skills within a vocational context
- Experience of preparing and evaluating learning materials and delivering accredited qualifications
- Experience of internal verification and moderation
Teaching Qualifications & Salary Banding
To be eligible for our Qualified Lecturer salary banding (GBP 31,837 - GBP 48,160), you must hold one of the following teaching qualifications:
- DTTLS (Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
- Certificate in Education
- PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education)
- DET (Diploma in Education and Training)
- DiT (Diploma in Teaching) - if for a vocational subject
If you do not hold one of the above qualifications, you will fall into our Unqualified Lecturer salary banding (GBP 26,661 - GBP 29,998).
