We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Maths Lecturer to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact by delivering high-quality teaching to adult learners and contributing to their academic and personal development within a supportive and dynamic Further Education environment. The role includes a regular commitment to evening teaching, supporting flexible access to learning for our adult students.

Compensation: £25,611 – £46,263 / year

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, inspirational teaching and access to learning for adult learners, providing teaching and assessment in line with awarding body requirements to support achievement.
  • Carry a teaching load in line with the contract, including two evening sessions per week, and complete essential administrative tasks such as preparing schemes of work and assessments.
  • Support adult learners in meeting their targets through progress tracking, reviews, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in teaching, learning, and the overall learner experience, focusing on attendance, retention, achievement, progression, and value-added outcomes.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Hold a relevant degree (or substantial equivalent experience) in Maths, along with a Certificate in Education or Level 5 Teaching Qualification.
  • Experience in delivering and assessing Functional Skills and GCSE Mathematics, ideally within the FE sector.
  • Proven track record of raising achievement in Maths with diverse learners, and experience in preparing and evaluating effective teaching and learning materials.

Teaching Qualifications & Salary Banding

To be eligible for our Qualified Lecturer salary banding (£30,583 – £46,263), you must hold one of the following qualifications:

  • DTTLS (Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
  • Certificate in Education
  • PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education)
  • DET (Diploma in Education and Training)
  • DiT (Diploma in Teaching) – if for a vocational subject

If you do not hold one of the above qualifications, you will fall into our Unqualified Lecturer salary banding (£25,611 – £28,817).

Not Accepted as Stand Alone Qualifications:

  • PTLLS (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
  • CTLLS (Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
  • CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults)
