Key Responsibilities

  • You will work closely with management, colleagues and students to ensure success for both college and students.
  • You will deliver specific programmes that focus on Health & Social Care in line with our prospectus and contribute to our aims and objectives.
  • You will work towards successful outcomes for students and provide a positive overall experience at the college.
  • The successful candidate will engage in advising and assessing students, preparing course material that supports the learning strategy of the college and participating in training and meetings when required.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • An academic background in Health and Social Care is essential along with a recognised teaching qualification (L5 or above). We will also consider someone who is willing to work towards obtaining this qualification.
  • Ability to teach on Health and Social Care Level 3 BTEC and/or T Level would be an advantage to enable flexibility within the department if needed.

Teaching Qualifications & Salary Banding

To be eligible for our Qualified Lecturer salary banding (£31,837 – £48,160), you must hold one of the following teaching qualifications:

  • DTTLS (Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
  • Certificate in Education
  • PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education)
  • DET (Diploma in Education and Training)
  • DiT (Diploma in Teaching) – if for a vocational subject

If you do not hold one of the above qualifications, you will fall into our Unqualified Lecturer salary banding (£25,611 – £28,817).

Not Accepted as Stand Alone Qualifications:

  • PTLLS (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
  • CTLLS (Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
  • CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults)
