Sandwell College is seeking two passionate and knowledgeable Lecturers in Essential Digital Skills to join our ESOL 19+ department. We have one full time role and one part time role at 0.5. This is an exciting opportunity to empower adult learners with the digital knowledge and confidence they need to thrive in education, employment and everyday life.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging Essential Digital Skills programmes and IT sessions as required
- Participate in curriculum development and planning to shape high‑quality learning experiences; maintain accurate academic and administrative records
- Provide course leadership, personal tutoring, and pastoral support
- Teach up to two evenings, as well as in community settings
- Work collaboratively within course teams to ensure consistently strong delivery and learner experience
- Use ILT and multimedia to develop effective digital learning materials
- Design and develop learning resources suitable for a range of digital skill levels
- Support the creation of effective learner support systems within mainstream programmes
- Contribute to the expansion and development of digital learning provision
- Teach core digital topics including software applications, online communication, internet use, and online safety
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- English and Maths GCSE (or equivalent) at Grade C/4 or above
- Level 5 Teaching Qualification / Certificate in Education (or willingness to work towards)
- An ESOL specialism combined with IT experience (Desirable)
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Strong organisational, administrative, and presentation skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to inspire, motivate, and support adult learners
- Ability to diversify teaching methods and adapt to varied learner needs
- Proven experience teaching digital skills or IT to adult ESOL learners
- Strong understanding of digital technologies, software applications, and online platforms
- Experience using ILT to deliver engaging sessions

- PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education)
- DET (Diploma in Education and Training)
