Weβre excited to announce an opportunity for a dedicated and passionate Lecturer in Dog Grooming to join our team. This is a part-time, fixed-term maternity cover role running from November until the end of the academic year (June 2026).

Key Responsibilities
In this role, youβll deliver engaging and high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment in Dog grooming, supporting students to achieve their goals and preparing them for future progression. Youβll also act as a course tutor, tracking progress, maintaining records, and helping learners reach their full potential. Alongside your teaching, youβll contribute to continuous improvements in the student experience and may work with external partners and employers to ensure the diverse needs of learners are met.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Previous academic experience in Dog grooming would be fantastic, along with a recognised teaching qualification, (L5 or above). We will also consider someone who is willing to work towards obtaining this qualification and has experience of working in a dog grooming environment which would be relatable to the areas we teach. We are looking for individuals who can inspire our students with passion and enthusiasm.
Teaching Qualifications & Salary Banding
To be eligible for our Qualified Lecturer salary banding (Β£31,837 β Β£48,160), you must hold one of the following teaching qualifications:
- DTTLS (Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
- Certificate in Education
- PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education)
- DET (Diploma in Education and Training)
- DiT (Diploma in Teaching) β if for a vocational subject
If you do not hold one of the above qualifications, you will fall into our Unqualified Lecturer salary banding (Β£26,661 β Β£29,998).
Not Accepted as Stand Alone Qualifications:
- PTLLS (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
- CTLLS (Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
- CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults)
