Birmingham Full-Time On-site
S
Are you passionate about supporting young people to achieve their potential while promoting positive behaviour, respect and responsibility? Cadbury College is looking for a confident, resilient and proactive Student Achievement, Behaviour and Support Coordinator to play a key role in supporting learner behaviour, engagement and achievement.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in behaviour management, pastoral support or student services who can make a real difference to the student experience. You’ll provide a visible and supportive presence across the College, responding to behaviour concerns, investigating incidents, supporting disciplinary processes and helping learners move forward positively. Working closely with curriculum teams, safeguarding, student support and senior colleagues, you’ll help create a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment where students can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

You’ll act as a central point of contact for behaviour-related incidents, providing a calm, confident and professional response to challenging situations, classroom disruption and conflict. You’ll investigate incidents impartially, gather evidence, interview learners and staff, maintain accurate and confidential records, and prepare reports and documentation to support disciplinary processes. You’ll coordinate behaviour meetings and panels where required, communicate sensitively but firmly with learners and parents/carers, and ensure agreed actions are followed through. Using restorative approaches where appropriate, you’ll help resolve conflict, repair relationships and support learners’ successful reintegration following incidents or suspension.

You’ll work closely with Programme Achievement Managers, Heads of Curriculum, teaching staff, Safeguarding, Learning Support and Student Services to identify emerging concerns, provide guidance to colleagues, and ensure behaviour is managed consistently, fairly and proportionately. You’ll also contribute to preventative interventions, improvements to College behaviour procedures and wider priorities around attendance, engagement, achievement, inclusion and learner wellbeing.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

We’re seeking someone with substantial experience working directly with young people in an education, pastoral, behaviour or youth support setting, who can combine clear expectations and professional authority with fairness, empathy and sound judgement.

You’ll need:

  • A good standard of English and Maths, normally GCSE Grade 4/C or above, or equivalent
  • Recent and relevant experience in behaviour management, pastoral support, student services or a comparable role
  • Experience managing challenging behaviour, conflict and complex learner situations
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding and the ability to recognise, record and escalate concerns appropriately
  • An understanding of how additional needs, SEND, mental health and wider circumstances may influence learner behaviour
  • The ability to investigate incidents objectively, gather evidence and produce accurate, clear reports
  • Excellent communication skills, including the confidence to manage difficult conversations with learners, parents/carers and colleagues
  • A calm, resilient and emotionally regulated approach, with the ability to remain professional under pressure
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage a demanding caseload and competing priorities
  • The ability to build positive professional relationships while maintaining clear boundaries and consistent expectations
  • A degree or higher-level qualification, teaching qualification or relevant qualification in education, youth work, behaviour or pastoral care would be desirable
  • Experience of formal disciplinary processes, behaviour panels, suspension procedures, restorative practice or reintegration would also be advantageous, as would familiarity with systems such as ProMonitor, CPOMS, EBS or similar education-management platforms would also be highly desirable
