As a Paintshop Operative at Sandvik Rock Processing Solutions in Ballygawley, you will play a key role in preparing and finishing components for powder coating, ensuring products meet high standards of quality, durability, and appearance. Working within the coating shed, you will contribute to the smooth flow of production by preparing materials, supporting coating processes, and maintaining strong safety and quality standards. Your work directly supports operational efficiency and Sandvik’s purpose of advancing the world through engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare components for powder coating, including cleaning, sanding, masking, and surface preparation
  • Load, hang, and unload parts onto the powder coating line in sequence of production requirements
  • Receipt and track parts and paint kits using handheld scanning equipment
  • Carry out inspection of coated parts to ensure quality, finish, and specification standards are met
  • Maintain equipment, follow safe systems of work, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Essential Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, paintshop, or industrial environment
  • Ability to operate hand tools and carry out mechanical preparation tasks
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high‑quality finishes
  • Good organisational skills and ability to work to production targets
  • Positive, reliable team player with strong work ethic

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Knowledge of powder coating processes or industrial coating applications
  • Forklift license
  • Experience working in a fast‑paced production environment
  • Exposure to Lean or continuous improvement practices

Work Environment

  • On‑site role based in Ballygawley within a paintshop/coating shed
  • Standard working hours:
    • Monday–Thursday: 7:00am – 4:00pm
    • Friday: 7:00am – 1:00pm
  • Work may involve fast‑paced production environments and meeting output targets
