Join us at Oak Springs, our luxury purpose-built residential care home in Wavertree. Here at Oak Springs, we provide the highest standard of residential, respite and dementia care for older people. Our beautiful 74-bedded home is spread across 3 floors, and our lively team supports the vibrant community of residents to enjoy everything from music rooms and a beauty salon, to peaceful lounge and courtyard areas. As a Unit Lead, you will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day running of one of our care units. This is a senior position that combines hands-on care with leadership and operational responsibilities. You will work closely with the Home Manager and wider leadership team to ensure the highest standards of care, compliance, and team performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a team of care staff, ensuring compassionate, person-centred care is delivered consistently.
  • Oversee the daily operations of your unit, including staff deployment, care delivery, and resident wellbeing.
  • Conduct and review care assessments, risk assessments, and care plans in line with regulatory standards.
  • Administer medication safely and accurately, maintaining detailed records.
  • Carry out staff supervisions, appraisals, and performance reviews.
  • Liaise with families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies to coordinate care and support.
  • Ensure compliance with CQC regulations and internal quality standards through regular audits and reporting.
  • Promote a positive culture of teamwork, respect, and continuous improvement.

*Overtime is paid for working over full-time hours. Free meals are given if working over an 8-hour shift and are subject to terms and conditions. Discounts are accessed using our Reward Me app. Flexible pay is available via STREAM.

What are we looking for?

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a senior care role within a residential or nursing home essential.
  • Level 3 qualification in Health Social Care (or equivalent) essential.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
  • Confident in using digital care systems and maintaining accurate records.
  • Experience in dementia care and person-centred planning essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive, compassionate, and professional approach to care.
