Care Practitioner (Nights)

  • Hourly rate: £13.78 per hour
  • Shift pattern: 3 nights per week, 8pm – 8am
  • Contracted hours: 33 per week

Nestled in the charming town of Cockermouth and with stunning views of the Lake District fells, 60‑beded Dalton Court offers high‑quality, specialist Nursing and Dementia care in a peaceful and picturesque setting. We’re proud to also offer palliative and end‑of‑life care, along with flexible respite stays, tailored to support individuals and families when they need it most.

Dalton Court has been carefully designed to feel like home – warm, welcoming, and inclusive. We are looking for caring, compassionate Night Care Practitioners who will support our residents and contribute to the overall smooth‑running of the home during the night.

Key Duties

  • Completing required training to deliver excellent care
  • Assisting residents with personal care and hygiene
  • Providing reassurance and companionship to residents, especially those who may need additional support during the night
  • Monitoring and responding to residents’ needs, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the night
  • Undertaking light domestic tasks in collaboration with the Housekeeping team to maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the home
  • Collaborating with colleagues to ensure smooth evening and morning handovers

Qualifications & Experience

  • A warm, compassionate approach and positive attitude
  • A genuine interest in Health and Social Care – ideally with a minimum of 1‑2 years’ prior experience in the sector
  • Flexibility to work shift patterns across the whole week, including some weekend working
