We are seeking an experienced Shepherd to join our livestock team on a progressive, organic mixed farming estate, working predominately with the sheep flock, but will also involve supporting a pedigree Beef Shorthorn based suckler herd when needed.

The role will focus on the day-to-day management of a 1,000-ewe Aberfield flock, including:

  • Breeding
  • Lambing
  • Grazing management

Lambing is mainly outdoors, with a small proportion indoors in February. Applicants should have a minimum of two years' sheep experience, be self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team. A full UK driving licence is required; own dogs preferred.

The position offers a competitive salary, housing, 23 days' holiday, a non-contributory pension and access to additional benefits and employee discounts. The role is based on an average of 39 hours per week; however, flexibility will be required to cover the hours necessary to fulfil the duties of the role.
