The National Key Account Manager is accountable for delivering sustainable sales, revenue, gross margin and market share growth across strategically important national customers within the UK generics market. The role leads commercial relationships, develops account strategies, and aligns customer needs with Sandoz portfolio, pricing, forecasting and operational priorities while maintaining strong compliance and governance standards.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Own assigned account performance, deliver sales, revenue, margin and market-share objectives, and identify sustainable portfolio growth opportunities.
  • Create short-, medium- and long-term account strategies, maintain quality account plans, map stakeholders, risks and opportunities.
  • Act as principal commercial contact, build trusted relationships, manage complex issues and deliver commitments within agreed timelines.
  • Lead customer negotiations, contracts, pricing arrangements and rebate agreements within approval frameworks and margin expectations.
  • Monitor competitor, pricing, supply and customer developments, then turn insight into clear commercial actions and recommendations.
  • Work with Supply Chain and internal teams to support customer forecasting, demand planning, stock risk management and product launch requirements.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Supply Chain, Legal, Analytics, Portfolio, Strategy, Customer Services and other teams to deliver customer and business objectives.
  • Maintain accurate account data, reporting, administration and customer operating-cycle delivery, while driving simplification and continuous improvement.
  • Operate within UK laws, regulations, industry codes, company policies and procedures, including timely reporting of safety or technical complaints.
  • Support colleagues, promote collaboration and knowledge sharing, and demonstrate expected Sandoz values and behaviours.

What you’ll bring to the role:

Essential Requirements:

  • Desirable degree-level education in business, commercial or science-related discipline; relevant sales, negotiation or account-management qualifications beneficial.
  • Significant key account management experience within the UK pharmaceutical or generics market.
  • Strong understanding of national retailers, wholesalers and relevant commercial customer channels.
  • Proven delivery of stretching sales, revenue and gross margin targets.
  • Experience in forecasting, demand planning, pricing, contracts, rebate agreements and portfolio management.
  • Ability to analyse customer, competitor and market information and influence senior stakeholders across a matrix organisation.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
