We are looking for an exceptional candidate to join the team in Newbury overseeing the Mercedes-Benz, Omoda Jaecoo and avocado sales teams. The focus of this role will be to maximise sales and profit opportunities across the site. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, leading and inspiring the sales teams and will need to ensure that sites achieve maximum profit margins within the annual budget. You will have to continually review the department's financial situation, examining all accounts, daily and weekly and taking corrective measures and actions as deemed necessary.
A key part of the role will be to enhance levels of sales customer satisfaction and retention through processes and training/development of staff. Duties include:
- Lead and motivate the sales team across the Mercedes-Benz, Omoda Jaecoo and avocado, creating a professional and customer-focussed environment and promoting a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Develop a positive work environment and culture.
- Look for new business opportunities in the Newbury area.
- Take steps to increase market penetration in new, used sales and avocado, in order to achieve or exceed budget.
- Provide accurate and timely reporting, reviewing management accounts and debtors.
- Provide training and coaching to sales and management team to optimise performance.
- Set monthly objectives for staff and hold regular one-to-ones.
- Assist in the recruitment of Sales department personnel.
- Ensure the sales team adhere to the correct usage of the ITC compliance systems.
- Respond promptly to any customer complaints and ensure timely and correct resolution.
- Ensure site presentation is pristine as per Sandown standards.
- Ensure a good relationship between Sales in both departments and Aftersales.
The successful candidate will have significant relevant retail motor experience in a Senior Sales management position and will be able to demonstrate a track record of success in both the new and used car markets. Candidates will need to have a Driving Licence, outstanding drive, ambition, enthusiasm and excellent communication skills and be immaculately attired. Applicants must hold a valid driving licence.
The showroom is open from Monday to Friday, 9:00 – 17:00, Saturday and 10:00 – 16:00, Sunday. Your contracted hours will be worked on a rota system between Monday and Saturday. You will take an unpaid hour for lunch. Where practical a 5-day week is worked. However, on occasion it may be necessary for you to work an additional day, which will be given back as time in lieu. Total Hours: 45 Per week. Competitive salary and commission package, a Company car will be provided.
