Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Chief Markets Reporter who will produce fresh, innovative content around cryptocurrency markets. Working alongside analysts and editors, you will generate news articles in English about Bitcoin, altcoins, and other tokenized assets, explaining market movements, breaking news, and providing insight to market participants. You’ll blend short news briefs with occasional in‑depth features that broaden readers’ understanding of the crypto universe and its global context. The role requires autonomous source cultivation, coverage of industry events, political and regulatory factors that affect crypto markets, and macroeconomic perspectives when relevant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research & Writing: Produce world‑leading crypto market reports that unveil what sources are thinking and doing. Mine online and physical sources to obtain intelligence and help position the outlet as the go‑to media for those who want to spread information. Bridge the gap between digital asset price action and macro catalysts such as U.S. Treasury yields, Fed Chairman rhetoric, and G7 regulatory shifts. Create innovative story ideas and pitch to editors, distinguishing the service from competitors. Focus on concise news pieces while occasionally working on deeper, more insightful long‑form articles. Verify facts and data through internal resources, leveraging analysts’ support for coordinated market research and macroeconomic perspectives.
  • Multimedia outputs: Report from events and news scenes. Participate in podcasts and video commentaries on market developments. Conduct interviews with newsmakers, analysts and investment professionals.
  • Editorial Process Collaboration: Collaborate closely with editors to refine story angles and maintain high standards of quality. Liaise with in‑house crypto, cross‑asset and macro analysts to ensure pieces reflect broader market trends and context. Work with photographers and videographers for any multimedia components.
  • Content Strategy & Distribution: Offer creative ideas and contribute to related social media content (snippets, headlines, visuals) to maximize reach and engagement. Produce content aligned with SEO objectives and content analytics to enhance visibility. Manage multiple deadlines and adhere to a schedule comprising both breaking news and longer‑form features.
  • Teamwork & Development: Communicate clearly with editors, freelancers and content writers to ensure an efficient and punctual newsroom. Set personal development goals and benefit from working with experienced editorial staff and other functions. Liaise with colleagues in other continents to ensure continuous coverage of 24/7 markets.
  • Standards, Ethics & Compliance: Be self‑motivated to maintain/exceed high standards of journalism. Follow the house editorial policy and guidelines. Be sensitive to legal and regulatory considerations and follow guidance from editors.

Qualifications

  • Experience & Expertise: Proven background in reporting or writing on cryptocurrency markets. Track record of breaking news and producing market‑moving stories. Interest in exploring conventional and unconventional crypto angles. Portfolio of writing that demonstrates accurate reporting with engaging, original storytelling.
  • Education: Formal degree in Journalism, Economics, Finance, or related fields is beneficial but not mandatory. Extensive professional experience may substitute for formal education.
  • Skills & Tools: Outstanding writing and editing skills, adaptable to short‑form and long‑form contexts. Familiarity with SEO best practices, basic CMS experience, and analytics tools. Deep understanding of institutional trading infrastructure (e.g., Talos, FalconX) and tokenized real‑world assets (RWA). Exceptional organizational skills to juggle simultaneous projects and meet deadlines. Strong English‑language skills (reading, summarizing, drafting at fast pace). Other languages strengthen application, especially for news gathering from online sources and people active in crypto markets. Experience interviewing sources is a plus.
  • Soft Skills: Ability to operate inside a dynamic newsroom, receptive to collaboration and constructive feedback. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross‑team collaboration. Curiosity and creativity to explore emerging, less‑covered topics in the crypto world.
  • Availability / Location: Full‑time, physical/hybrid role starting in Q1 2026, likely based in a European time zone (possibly London). Candidates should cover crypto markets during peak trading hours, especially 14:00‑17:00 UTC and adapt to newsroom shift rota. Must manage the mental load of a 24/7 global news cycle while maintaining discipline for high‑value feature writing. Prefer existing Swiss work permit or EU citizenship for non‑resident candidates. Other arrangements may be available for exceptional candidates. Future needs may arise in other time zones.

To Apply

Send your resume, a brief note on your favorite crypto media accounts (and why), and your motivation for applying to the position.
