Sandhurst School is a caring, inclusive and well‑ordered community where we aim to provide all students with the opportunity to succeed. Our Learning Coach, formerly known as a Teaching Assistant, supports students with special educational needs across the school and works closely with class teachers to help them reach their potential.

Contract: Permanent role, 25 hours per week, term time only (9.00 am – 3.00 pm). Grade: BGJ‑SP3. Salary: £15,209 per annum inclusive of fringe allowance.

Responsibilities:

  • Support students with special educational needs in and out of class.
  • Collaborate with subject teachers and the SEND team to plan and deliver tailored learning strategies.
  • Facilitate small‑group interventions when appropriate.
  • Assist with classroom organisation and student behaviour support.
  • Document and record student progress and attendance.
  • Contribute to regular team meetings and reflective practice sessions.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience working with students with special educational needs.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
  • Successful Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (Enhanced DBS).
