Sandhurst School is a caring, inclusive and well‑ordered community where we aim to provide all students with the opportunity to succeed. Our Learning Coach, formerly known as a Teaching Assistant, supports students with special educational needs across the school and works closely with class teachers to help them reach their potential.
Contract: Permanent role, 25 hours per week, term time only (9.00 am – 3.00 pm). Grade: BGJ‑SP3. Salary: £15,209 per annum inclusive of fringe allowance.
Responsibilities:
- Support students with special educational needs in and out of class.
- Collaborate with subject teachers and the SEND team to plan and deliver tailored learning strategies.
- Facilitate small‑group interventions when appropriate.
- Assist with classroom organisation and student behaviour support.
- Document and record student progress and attendance.
- Contribute to regular team meetings and reflective practice sessions.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience working with students with special educational needs.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
- Successful Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (Enhanced DBS).
