Stephen Sanderson Transport Ltd have positions available at our Sallow Road Depot for Class 1 local Day drivers, to join our team of skilled and talented drivers. This position would suit someone who takes pride in their work, has exemplary people skills and enjoys working individually and as part of a team to achieve common goals. You will be playing a key role in delivering a high-quality service to a variety of customers. We welcome applications from newly passed Class 1 drivers.
- Local area collections and delivery of customer goods as instructed by the Traffic team
- Trailer movements from customer sites to depot
- Trunking into Palletline Network Hubs
- Shunting of vehicles to other Sanderson Sites
- Achieve timely deliveries in line with companywide objectives
- Develop positive working relationships with all key stakeholders
- Ensure all delivering and receiving paperwork is signed by the customer as appropriate and returned to the Traffic Team for processing
- Complete all internal paperwork required in line with company policies and procedures
- Comply with health and safety legislation, safe systems of work and training requirements
- To be an ambassador of the company when dealing with customers and peers alike
Requirements
- A clean UK Class 1 driving license
- Calm and professional manner
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Reliable and able to work to tight deadlines
- Ability to stay focused and work under pressure
- Flexible
- Good knowledge of UK Geography and the road network
Additional information
- The position averages 50 hours per week Monday to Friday (with an unpaid meal break) start and finish times may vary depending on delivery demand and location, but you can expect to work between the hours of 08:00 to 21:00.
