Sopra Steria are looking for a DV cleared highly experienced Senior SQL Server DBA to join the team and support on their critical database services across a complex, secure environment. You will work closely with application, infrastructure, and cloud teams, playing a key role in maintaining their evolving SQL Server estate while driving automation and best practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advanced administration of Microsoft SQL Server environments across multiple tiers
- Management of SQL Server Failover Clusters (WSFC)
- Management of DR environments and failover processes
- Support SQL Server workloads hosted on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
- Plan and execute monthly SQL Server patching cycles
- Develop T-SQL and PowerShell scripts to automate tasks
Skills & Qualifications:
Essential
- Current DV clearance
- Extensive experience as a SQL Server DBA in enterprise environments
- Strong expertise in SQL Server administration (2016+ preferred)
- High Availability (WSFC, Always On)
- Backup, recovery, and DR planning
- Experience with performance tuning and optimisation
- Strong scripting skills (T-SQL, PowerShell)
- Experience working in controlled / secure environments
Desirable
- Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Splunk
