About the role
Our client, a digital consultancy delivering into central government, are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join a team working on existing digital services and integrations. You will build and improve core systems and API integrations, delivering changes into production and improving how services operate at scale, working closely with client stakeholders and other teams. This is a hands-on full stack role using Java, JavaScript, Spring and AWS in a fast-moving, stakeholder-heavy environment.
Key responsibilities
- Design, build and improve digital services within the DRS workstream
- Deliver full stack engineering across Java, JavaScript, Spring and AWS
- Support integration with OCv5 and wider platform changes across the programme
- Work closely with client stakeholders, SMEs and other delivery teams to move work forward
- Contribute to agile delivery across planning, stand ups, refinement and retrospectives
- Help deliver work linked to the eDRS switch off and broader service improvements
- Write, test and improve production quality code in a live delivery environment
- Support engineering standards and ensure deliverables meet agreed quality expectations
Skills and experience
- Strong experience as a Software Engineer in a hands on delivery role
- Good experience across Java, JavaScript, Spring and AWS
- Background delivering in a full stack engineering environment
- Experience building and improving digital products or services in agile teams
- Ability to work effectively with stakeholders in complex delivery environments
- Experience with APIs, integration work and live service delivery
- Comfort working in a consultancy or public sector delivery setting would be useful
- Strong communication skills and a practical approach to delivery, quality and teamwork
