A Senior Product Cost Engineer is wanted on a permanent basis by a global client of ours who is at the forefront of their industry and going through a real period of growth. This is a permanent opportunity that includes a base salary of between £46,000 - £52,000 dependent upon experience and qualifications, plus bonus and benefits.

Overview of the Senior Product Cost Engineer role:

  • Deliver released engineering design changes that reduce the cost of company products and components (mechanical and/or electrical) while maintaining required standards for safety, performance, quality, and compliance.
  • Identify and convert cost reduction opportunities across mechanical and electrical components into implemented engineering solutions, resulting in released changes and realised savings.
  • Own the engineering design output for assigned cost reduction initiatives, producing the required models, drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials to enable manufacture and release.

Key skills required for the Senior Product Cost Engineer role:

  • Previous experience delivering hands-on engineering design changes to products or components in a manufacturing or product-based environment.
  • Experience identifying and implementing cost reduction or value engineering opportunities through practical engineering solutions.
  • Prior experience working directly with manufacturing teams and suppliers to implement engineering changes into production.
  • Strong practical engineering capability with the ability to design, modify, and release mechanical and/or electrical components.
