A well‑established UK financial services platform is seeking a Senior Product Owner to join its product team based in Bristol. This role combines strategic product ownership with hands‑on delivery, offering the opportunity to shape product direction while remaining closely involved in execution.

The position has been created as part of a product team restructure, increasing senior ownership and accountability across key areas of the platform.

The Role:

The Senior Product Owner will take ownership of a defined area of a large‑scale financial platform, with responsibility for medium‑ to long‑term product roadmaps alongside day‑to‑day Product Owner duties. You will work closely with senior stakeholders to determine what should be built and why, and with delivery teams to ensure solutions are delivered effectively and at pace.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Strategy & Roadmap
    • Build and own a clear product roadmap for your allocated platform area
    • Understand customer needs, market trends and competitor offerings
    • Identify opportunities for differentiation and increased customer value
    • Clearly articulate product vision, priorities and rationale
  • Delivery & Execution
    • Act as Product Owner for two agile scrum teams
    • Translate strategy and vision into deliverable outcomes
    • Own backlog prioritisation, refinement and stakeholder alignment
    • Support and motivate teams to deliver high‑quality solutions

Domain Focus:

The role will align to one of two areas, depending on experience:

  • Wealth / Investment Platform Focus
    • Strong experience within UK wealth or investment platforms
    • Knowledge of products such as ISAs, pensions, bonds and wrappers
    • Understanding of platform operations and regulatory considerations
  • Digital, Data & Customer Experience Focus
    • Experience delivering digital platform capabilities, customer journeys or mobile experiences
    • Strong interest in data‑led product decision‑making
    • A working knowledge of UK wealth or investment products
    • Experience across both areas is beneficial but not essential.

Skills & Experience:

  • Essential
    • Proven experience owning and developing product roadmaps
    • Strong background as a Product Owner within agile environments
    • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands‑on delivery
    • Knowledge of UK financial services, wealth or platform‑based products (ISAs, SIPS, Investments etc).
  • Desirable
    • Experience across product management, delivery or project‑led environments
    • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
    • Data‑driven approach to product development

Working Arrangements:

Hybrid role with a requirement for three days per week in the Bristol office. Some flexibility may be available once established.
