The Financial Reporting team is responsible for all externally reported numbers, including the Annual Report and Interim Statement, while also acting as the technical accounting centre of excellence for the Group. The team owns Group accounting policies, ensures compliance with IFRS and statutory reporting requirements, and provides technical accounting support across corporate transactions, commercial projects, and strategic initiatives.

Working within the Financial Reporting team, the Finance Manager will act as a technical accounting specialist, supporting the business on complex accounting matters, financial reporting requirements, and emerging accounting standards. The role will work closely with senior stakeholders across Group Finance and the wider business to ensure robust accounting governance, accurate reporting, and best practice financial processes.

What You Need to Do
  • Provide technical accounting support and guidance to the wider business on complex or ad hoc accounting matters
  • Prepare technical accounting papers and accounting policy documentation for significant, unusual, or material transactions
  • Own and maintain complex financial models, accounting analyses, and transaction reporting schedules
  • Assess, document, and articulate key accounting judgements and estimates relating to material business activities
  • Support the interpretation, implementation, and ongoing compliance of new IFRS standards, interpretations, and exposure drafts
  • Facilitate discussions with Finance and business stakeholders on technical accounting matters and recommend appropriate accounting treatments
  • Review and enhance Group accounting policies, controls, and reporting procedures to improve reporting quality and consistency
  • Support the preparation of the Annual Report and Interim Financial Statements, ensuring compliance with IFRS and best practice reporting standards
  • Draft sections of Audit Committee papers, including accounting updates, technical papers, and going concern/viability assessments
  • Coordinate with Corporate Affairs, Investor Relations, Tax, and Company Secretariat teams to support external reporting deliverables
  • Support finance transformation initiatives, corporate restructuring activities, and strategic projects from a technical accounting perspective
  • Deliver guidance and training to finance and non-finance stakeholders on emerging accounting standards and reporting requirements
What You Need to Know & Show
  • ACA qualified accountant with strong post-qualified experience within Group Finance, Technical Accounting, Financial Reporting, or Big 4 environments
  • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and statutory reporting requirements
  • Experience preparing technical accounting papers and supporting complex accounting treatments
  • Exposure to listed/FTSE or large corporate reporting environments preferred
  • Experience supporting corporate transactions, restructuring activities, or finance transformation projects
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
