An experienced Solution Architect is required to lead end-to-end architecture for a large-scale B2B banking RTL and Payments Transformation programme within a complex financial services environment. This role will own solution design across multiple workstreams, ensuring a cohesive, scalable and resilient architecture aligned to regulatory, operational and commercial requirements.

The programme spans core B2B banking capabilities, including payments, reconciliation, KYC, cash management, monitoring and billing. You will play a central role in shaping an event-driven architecture, working closely with senior stakeholders, peer architects and offshore delivery teams, while providing strong architecture governance and design assurance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own solution architecture and high-level design across multiple workstreams
  • Define and govern event-driven architecture patterns including streaming and asynchronous integration
  • Manage cross-domain dependencies and complex integrations across B2B banking platforms
  • Lead architecture governance, design approvals and technical decision-making
  • Ensure non-functional requirements are met, including scalability, resilience, security and compliance
  • Facilitate design workshops and maintain the solution architecture roadmap
  • Collaborate effectively with onshore and offshore teams
Required Experience
  • Strong background in Solution Architecture with extensive HLD ownership
  • Hands-on experience designing event-driven architectures (Kafka, streaming, async patterns)
  • Solid understanding of microservices, APIs and cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure)
  • Proven experience within B2B banking and payments, including SEPA, SWIFT, Faster Payments and ISO 20022
  • Track record of delivering architecture on large-scale banking transformation programmes
  • Experience operating in complex, multi-vendor and offshore delivery environments
Desirable
  • TOGAF or equivalent architecture governance experience
  • Exposure to CRM platforms, billing and monitoring systems
  • Strong stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills
