Integration Architect / Senior Integration Architect - JAVA / AWS (ESSENTIAL)

- £600 Pay - Outside IR35 - 4 Days per week on site in London Bridge

- 6 month initial contract

We've partnered with a genuinely exciting organisation who are building a greenfield Bank, as part of this they are implementing a whole host of new platforms and technologies and are looking a genuine, pure senior Integration Architect define and deliver integration architecture across Accounts, Payments, and FX. The role focuses on evolving the target integration model and ensuring seamless connectivity across the clients core systems.

Key Responsibilities:
/n
/n
- Own and evolve integration architecture aligned with enterprise standards
/n
- Define and govern integration patterns across teams
/n
- Design and deliver event-driven, API-first, and messaging solutions (NATS, REST)
/n
- Lead end-to-end integration delivery, including hands-on development (Java/Spring)
/n
- Ensure scalable, cloud-native solutions on AWS
/n
- Produce architecture artefacts (blueprints, contracts, ADRs)
/n
- Guide teams on best practices, API governance, and event design
/n
- Engage stakeholders and align cross-team integration efforts
/n
/n
Primary Skills:
/n
/n
- Event-driven architecture and messaging systems (NATS, pub/sub, async patterns)
/n
- API-first design and integration patterns (REST, gRPC)
/n
- Java/Spring Boot and microservices architecture
/n
- Cloud-native integration on AWS (ECS/EKS, SQS/SNS, API Gateway)
/n
- End-to-end integration design and delivery
/n
/n
Secondary Skills:
/n
/n
- Integration governance, API lifecycle management, and best practices
/n
- Architecture artefacts (C4 models, ADRs, sequence diagrams)
/n
- DevOps and CI/CD exposure
/n
- AI-assisted development tools (Copilot, etc.)
/n
- Financial domain knowledge (RTL, Payments, FX) and stakeholder management
/n
/n
Core Skills:
/n Event-driven architecture, NATS, Java/Spring, REST/gRPC, AWS (ECS/EKS, SQS/SNS), API design, microservices, and integration patterns.
/n
Experience:
/n
/n
- 15+ years in technology with strong integration architecture experience
/n
- Proven delivery of complex integrations in financial services
/n
- Hands-on contributor with strong stakeholder communication
/n
- Experience across domains like RTL, Payments, or FX preferred
/n
/n
/n
