Overview

We are looking for an highly experienced Integration Architect to support a high-profile, business-critical replatforming programme for a well-known financial services organisation undergoing a complex technology transformation.

Whilst this is application/software focussed, this isnt a Solution Architect or Enterprise Architect, we're very much looking for an Integration Architecture specialist.

This is a highly collaborative, hands-on architecture role.

You will work across senior technology stakeholders, architecture, engineering and delivery teams to define the integration approach between legacy and target platforms.

The role requires strong stakeholder engagement and the ability to influence key architectural decisions, while remaining close to the technology and translating architectural direction into practical, implementable designs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define the integration architecture and approach for a Data centric workstream - but this is not a Data architect role - This is heavily focussed on Software and Applications but isnt a pure Solution Architect.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement across architecture, engineering and delivery teams, building alignment around key technical decisions.
  • Design APIs, integration patterns, messaging, events and system-to-system flows.
  • Define the appropriate use of synchronous APIs, asynchronous messaging, event-driven and batch integration.
  • Map end-to-end system and data flows, including interfaces, dependencies and data ownership.
  • Define the data migration approach, including mapping, transformation, validation and reconciliation.
  • Support legacy-to-target transition and coexistence throughout the replatforming.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to translate architecture into practical, implementable technical designs.
  • Define reusable patterns covering security, resilience, observability and error handling.

Experience

  • Strong Integration, Solution or Technical Architecture experience within large-scale transformation or replatforming programmes.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to work across senior stakeholders and technical delivery teams.
  • Deep understanding of APIs, messaging and event-driven integration.
  • Strong experience designing complex system and data flows.
  • Experience with data integration and migration between legacy and modern platforms.
  • A hands-on approach, comfortable moving from high-level architecture into detailed technical design.
  • Ability to bridge the gap between enterprise architecture and engineering delivery.
  • Financial services or regulated-industry experience would be beneficial.
  • Key Outcome

Deliver a clear and implementable integration architecture covering APIs, messaging, data flows, integration patterns and data migration, while building stakeholder alignment and enabling engineering teams to deliver the target solution consistently and at pace
