Basingstoke or London (Hybrid – 2-3 days per week)
Up to £65,000 + Excellent Benefits
Are you an experienced Infrastructure Engineer or Senior Infrastructure Analyst looking to take your first step into management?
We're supporting a well-established organisation looking for an Infrastructure & Support Manager to lead a small technical team while remaining heavily involved in the day-to-day delivery of infrastructure, cloud and cyber security services.
This isn't a role where you'll spend your days in meetings. Instead, you'll continue to work hands-on across Azure, networking and security, while coaching and developing a team of three Support Analysts.
If you're looking for a role where you can broaden your technical exposure, influence infrastructure strategy and begin building your leadership experience, we'd love to hear from you.
The Role
You'll be involved in everything from Azure administration and cloud optimisation through to networking, cyber security tooling, supplier management and infrastructure improvements across the business.
You'll be responsible for:
- Leading and mentoring a team of three IT Support professionals
- Managing Azure cloud services and hybrid infrastructure
- Supporting networking, LAN/WAN and connectivity across multiple sites
- Monitoring cloud performance, security and costs
- Managing infrastructure upgrades, patching and migrations
- Maintaining certificates, domains and core infrastructure services
- Working with third‑party suppliers and technology partners
- Supporting cyber security initiatives and infrastructure resilience
- Driving continual improvements across the IT environment
- Collaborating with stakeholders across the business on infrastructure projects
What we're looking for
- Microsoft Azure and cloud infrastructure
- Hybrid infrastructure (Cloud & On‑Prem)
- Networking (LAN/WAN, DNS, connectivity)
- Microsoft 365 technologies
- Infrastructure security and best practice
- Azure cost optimisation and cloud governance
- Working with third‑party suppliers
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
Experience with any of the following would be advantageous:
- Mimecast
- ITIL
- ISO 27001 or security frameworks
Management Experience?
This role would suit someone who has mentored junior engineers or support analysts and is ready to take their first formal leadership position. The business is committed to helping the successful candidate develop their management skills while remaining technically hands‑on.
Why Apply?
- Stay hands‑on with modern infrastructure and cloud technologies
- Broad exposure across Azure, networking and cyber security
- Opportunity to shape and develop a growing support function
- Hybrid working (2-3 days per week)
- Friendly, collaborative technology team
- Excellent opportunity for long‑term progression
