Great opportunity to join the second line risk team to bring expertise in the oversight of financial risks. We are looking for a person with strong experience that can credibly review and challenge the risk management and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise the business on key financial risks.
  • Review and challenge major proposals like projects and acquisitions.
  • Help set and monitor the company’s financial risk appetite and limits, including stress testing.
  • Create and improve financial risk reports and board packs.
  • Investigate issues and conduct second-line reviews, reporting findings and recommendations.
  • Lead risk assessments and deep dives to evaluate financial and credit risk controls.
  • Work with first-line teams to ensure financial risks are properly identified and managed.
  • Review key actuarial assumptions and support model validation when needed.
  • Review financial analysis and reports produced by the first line.
  • Support the CRO in managing the Enterprise Risk and Risk Appetite Frameworks.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Qualified Actuary.
  • Financial Services experience.
  • Experience of the regulatory environment in the UK.
  • Understanding and experience of credit risk and illiquid assets.
  • Previous risk management experience (1LoD or 2LoD).
