A well‑established UK organisation is continuing a large‑scale data and analytics transformation and is looking to hire a hands‑on Senior Data Architect to play a key role in shaping, and delivering modern cloud data solutions.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys working close to delivery teams, shaping solutions, reviewing designs, and acting as the architectural glue between business, analysts, engineers and programme leads on a number of large scale transformation programmes.
The Opportunity
You’ll join a growing data function at a time of significant investment, supporting:
- The build‑out of a future‑state single data platform (Microsoft Fabric)
- Ongoing evolution of Databricks, including a Single Customer View capability
- Major modernisation of legacy MI and reporting platforms (on‑prem SQL Server → cloud → Fabric)
- Finance and actuarial data initiatives, including removing spreadsheet‑driven / EUC processes in favour of automated, governed solutions
This role is about practical data architecture — providing design authority, shaping solutions, and ensuring scalable, well‑governed data designs are implemented across change programmes.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Acting as solution‑level Data Architect across multiple programme initiatives
- Defining and reviewing high‑ and low‑level data designs
- Providing design authority and assurance for data platforms, pipelines and analytics solutions
- Working closely with BAs, engineers and agile delivery teams
- Supporting the transition of legacy MI and analytics workloads to modern cloud architecture
- Helping define data pipelines, common data models and semantic layers (Power BI aligned)
- Partnering with Finance and Actuarial teams on data‑led transformation initiatives
What We’re Looking For
Essential
We’re keen to speak with candidates who bring a balance of technical depth and delivery mindset, including:
- Extensive experience in data-focused roles
- Strong background in traditional data warehousing, alongside modern cloud data platforms
- Experience designing data solutions in the cloud (Azure preferred)
Desirable
Hands‑on experience with platforms such as:
- Azure / Databricks
- SQL Server (legacy estates)
- Microsoft data & analytics tooling
- Comfortable operating between strategy and implementation
Hybrid Working
This role is offered on a hybrid basis. While there is an office presence in the South of England, flexibility is available, depending on location and role demands.
Package & Benefits
Overall package worth in excess of ÂŁ115,000
This is an opportunity to join a values‑led organisation offering long‑term career development and meaningful transformation work on
- Genuine, large‑scale data transformation
- Modern Microsoft‑aligned data strategy
- Growing, collaborative data function
- High‑impact role with real ownership
- Hybrid working and realistic expectations
