Are you a Business Analyst with strong mortgage industry experience and a genuine interest in AI and emerging technology? This isn't your typical Business Analyst role. We're looking for someone to join an exciting team developing an AI-powered mortgage compliance platform, designed to automate many of the checks traditionally completed manually by compliance teams. The platform uses AI to analyse mortgage documentation – including payslips, bank statements and application data – and perform compliance checks in seconds.

You'll sit at the intersection of Mortgages, Compliance, Business Analysis and AI, helping translate real-world mortgage compliance requirements into automated rules.

What you'll be doing:

  • Analysing manual mortgage compliance checks and turning them into clear, testable automated rules
  • Working closely with Product, Engineering and Compliance teams
  • Using AI coding assistants such as Claude Code to develop and refine compliance rules
  • Creating clear prompts and specifications that tell the platform what it needs to check
  • Reviewing AI-generated logic and making sure it accurately reflects mortgage compliance requirements
  • Working with structured data such as JSON / YAML
  • Supporting the automation of manual compliance and operational processes
  • Working with Git, feature branches and pull requests alongside Engineering
  • Continuously exploring how AI can improve the mortgage compliance process

What we're looking for:

  • Strong experience within mortgages – ideally mortgage advice, lending or mortgage compliance
  • Good understanding of FCA / MCOB requirements and the compliance checks involved throughout a mortgage case
  • A technical mindset – you don't need to be a software developer, but you should be comfortable getting closer to technology
  • A genuine interest in AI – whether that's Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, Cursor or personal AI projects
  • Experience working with structured data such as JSON, YAML, APIs or similar would be highly beneficial

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is curious about AI and technology. You don't need to be a Claude Code expert. However, you should be someone who enjoys experimenting with AI, understands the importance of good prompting and is comfortable looking under the bonnet to understand how technology works. This is an opportunity to work on a genuinely innovative product and help shape how AI is used within the UK mortgage industry. Rather than simply documenting requirements, you'll have the opportunity to directly influence how AI performs real-world mortgage compliance checks – helping make the process faster, more consistent and more efficient.

If you have a background in mortgages, enjoy solving complex problems and find yourself constantly experimenting with AI and new technology, I'd love to hear from you.
