Outsource UK is working with a leading defence client to recruit a Configuration Controller to join their UK Radar & Naval Solutions team based in Enfield. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of the release and change control of technical data in a high-tech, engineering-led environment. You’ll play a crucial role in ensuring quality standards are met throughout the configuration lifecycle—supporting engineering teams and contributing to the development of processes that support cutting-edge maritime navigation and surveillance technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily management of release and change control processes within the ERP system (IFS Cloud Applications 11).
- Coordinate technical data control including part structures, BoMs, drawings, documents, and software.
- Act as a central point for ERP-controlled parts and documentation queries (change requests, deviations, revisions).
- Develop and maintain configuration management processes and train relevant stakeholders.
- Create and maintain ERP document metadata and configuration templates.
- Support ERP system enhancements, testing phases, and data cleansing initiatives.
- Produce configuration management plans for project bids and delivery phases.
- Maintain software version control and documentation for certifications (ISO, TUV SUD, MED Module D).
- Participate in design and software release reviews.
- Manage company documentation relevant to the Hellios JOSCAR accreditation process.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience in configuration management, ideally in a defence or MOD environment.
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems – ideally IFS Cloud Applications 11 or SAP S/4HANA.
- High attention to detail with excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio).
- Excellent documentation and report writing skills.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and auditing practices (preferred).
- Project management experience is an advantage.
Qualifications
- Relevant qualification in Configuration Management or equivalent experience.
- Auditor training or ISO 9001:2015 compliance knowledge is beneficial.
