Are you an Application Support professional with experience supporting insurance, broking or policy administration systems?

We’re working with an established organisation that is investing significantly in its Technology function and looking for an Application Support Engineer to join its Business Applications Support team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who already understands the insurance technology landscape but wants to broaden their experience as the business introduces new platforms, modernises its application estate and delivers a number of major technology programmes.

The role

You’ll provide second-line support across a range of business-critical insurance and broking applications, working closely with users, technology teams, product owners and third-party vendors. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 2nd-line application support across insurance and broking systems
  • Investigating and resolving incidents, problems and recurring application issues
  • Supporting policy administration and broking platforms
  • Monitoring application performance, integrations and data quality
  • Working with internal technology teams and vendors to resolve more complex issues
  • Building strong relationships with users across different areas and levels of the business
  • Supporting application changes, upgrades and wider technology initiatives
  • Helping improve processes, documentation and user experience
  • Cross-training across additional applications to create greater knowledge and resilience within the team

What we’re looking for

You’ll ideally have a few years' experience within Application Support, Business Systems Support or a similar role, with exposure to the insurance or broking sector.

Experience with DXC Assure Broking would be particularly valuable. However, we’re also interested in people who have supported a range of insurance platforms such as Brokasure/BrokerSure, A3, Acturis or other policy administration and broking systems.

You’ll also need:

  • Strong application troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • An understanding of insurance/broking processes and systems
  • Confidence communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • The ability to build relationships with users across the business
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn new applications
  • The ability to work independently without requiring significant day-to-day guidance

Why consider it?

There’s a lot happening within the Technology function. The business is investing in new platforms and has a number of transformation programmes underway across the UK and internationally.

Rather than being restricted to one legacy application, you’ll have the opportunity to broaden your systems knowledge, cross-train into new platforms and contribute to how the Application Support function evolves.

If you’ve built your experience supporting insurance applications and are looking for an environment where you can expand your knowledge and develop alongside a changing Technology function, I’d love to hear from you.
