Several Tech Authors and Tech Writers are wanted on a permanent basis by a global client of ours who are at the forefront of their industry. The successful candidate will maintain customer documentation for customer products, in accordance with in-house quality standards. This documentation includes, but is not limited to, Instruction manuals and Spare parts manuals, and will be for employees' usage, as well as end clients.
This is a permanent opportunity that includes a base salary of up to £45,000 plus bonus and benefits.
Overview of the Technical Author role:- Plan, research, write, and edit documents from conception to delivery to fulfil customer requirements.
- Create and manipulate images, either photographs or illustrations, to complement the text in documents.
- A degree, HNC/HND qualification or equivalent experience in mechanical or electromechanical engineering, or time served in forces or engineering apprenticeships.
- A number of years in technical authoring/writing experience in an engineering environment, writing instruction manuals for complex products.
- Experience in the use of an XML authoring application.
