We are currently recruiting for an Environments Manager to join a leading organisation based in the UK. This would be an excellent opportunity for someone who has a background of working within financial services.
Salary: £80,000.00 per annum
Location: Remote with occasional travel into Bristol
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage and develop a team of UNIX sysops engineers
- Own service performance, availability and operational stability across the UNIX estate
- Drive automation and DevOps practices (Puppet, Terraform, Pipelines)
- Review current and existing infrastructure and define a roadmap for improvement
- Establish and embed operational best practices
- Implement effective performance management across the team
- Engage regularly with stakeholders
- Deliver measurable improvements in service quality, automation and system reliability
Essential Skills:
- Strong hands-on technical background in UNIX/Linux (Red Hat preferred), automation tools (Puppet and Terraform)
- Proven experience managing similar SysOps/Infrastructure teams in mid to large environments
- Demonstrated ability to improve service performance and availability
- Drive automation and DevOps initiatives
- Lead technical change within infrastructure estates
- Credible hands-on technical leader
- Strong stakeholder engagement across technical and business teams
