About the Role
- Take ownership of the cloud infrastructure, ensuring it is scalable, secure, performant, and cost efficient.
- Design, build, and maintain AWS infrastructure using infrastructure as code principles, primarily Terraform.
- Develop, maintain, and optimise CI/CD pipelines using GitLab to support efficient and reliable software delivery.
- Collaborate closely with software engineers to improve deployment processes and overall developer experience.
- Monitor system performance, manage incidents, and implement long term fixes to enhance reliability.
- Support environment management across production and non-production systems.
- Drive best practice across security, including IAM policies, secrets management, and network controls.
- Contribute to disaster recovery planning, backup strategies, and resilience improvements.
- Continuously evaluate and adopt new DevOps tools and practices, including AI assisted development tools.
Must Have Experience
- 3+ years experience in a DevOps or infrastructure engineering role.
- Strong experience working within AWS environments.
- Proven hands on experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code.
- Solid experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.
- Experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like ECS.
- Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools such as CloudWatch, Grafana, or Prometheus.
- Strong understanding of security best practices including least privilege and secrets management.
- Experience working in Agile software development environments.
- Strong problem solving ability with a proactive and collaborative approach.
- Experience or interest in using AI assisted development tools such as Claude Code or Kiro.
