We're looking for an experienced Senior Database Administrator with deep Microsoft SQL Server expertise and a passion for automation, cloud technologies and modern database engineering practices. This is an opportunity to play a key role in a cloud-first environment, helping to drive platform reliability, performance, security and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage and optimise Microsoft SQL Server environments across on-premises and Azure platforms
- Ensure database performance, availability, security and reliability
- Lead backup, recovery, disaster recovery and high-availability initiatives
- Troubleshoot complex database and application performance issues, conducting root cause analysis and implementing improvements
- Partner with development, infrastructure, cloud and security teams to support platform growth and innovation
- Drive database modernisation initiatives, including Database-as-Code, automation and CI/CD adoption
- Develop and maintain operational standards, documentation and best practices
- Participate in an on-call rotation supporting critical production systems
