We're looking for a Platform Engineer to join a collaborative engineering team responsible for providing the tools, infrastructure and services that enable developers to deliver software quickly, securely and reliably. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with Azure and DevOps experience who enjoys improving developer experience, automating processes, and working closely with development teams to build resilient, scalable platforms. You'll play a key role in shaping the future of the platform, influencing technical direction and adopting new technologies as the organisation continues its move towards modern, serverless architectures.

The Role

  • Support and continuously improve Development, Test and Production environments.
  • Design, implement and maintain cloud platform services and infrastructure.
  • Drive automation and improve CI/CD processes to increase reliability and reduce delivery times.
  • Work closely with development teams to provide tooling and remove obstacles.
  • Monitor, optimise and enhance platform performance, scalability and cost efficiency.
  • Ensure platform security, governance and compliance standards are maintained.
  • Act as an escalation point for platform-related issues.
  • Champion DevOps culture, observability and operational excellence.
  • Contribute to the adoption of modern cloud-native and serverless architectures.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Experience working in Platform Engineering, DevOps, Infrastructure or SRE environments.
  • Strong Microsoft Azure experience across IaaS and PaaS services.
  • Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code and cloud automation.
  • Azure DevOps or other CI/CD tooling experience.
  • Scripting experience with PowerShell, Python, Bash or Go.
  • Experience supporting and operating production environments.
  • Knowledge of monitoring, observability and incident management.
  • Understanding of security and compliance best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.
  • Passion for continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.

Desirable

  • Microsoft Azure Fundamentals certification.
  • Octopus Deploy experience.
  • Experience building and supporting customer-facing platforms.
  • Exposure to serverless architectures.
  • Understanding of DevOps and Platform-as-a-Service principles.
