Duration: Initial 6 month contract

Sanderson are currently supporting a major international retail organisation to identify a Marketplace Business Development Manager to support the growth of its European marketplace offering. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in expanding and optimising a portfolio of marketplace sellers, with a particular focus on German B2C merchants.

The Role

As a Marketplace Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving the growth and operational success of sellers on the platform. You will support merchants through onboarding, optimise their performance, and build strong, long-term relationships to maximise sales and visibility.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and expand a network of German B2C marketplace sellers
  • Identify and onboard new merchants onto the platform
  • Support sellers with technical setup, integration, and account configuration
  • Provide ongoing operational and technical support throughout onboarding
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with sellers
  • Analyse market trends, competition, and performance data to identify growth opportunities
  • Support merchants in improving sales, visibility, and conversion performance
  • Deliver against sales and quality targets
  • Collaborate with internal teams including legal, marketing, and logistics
  • Represent the business at industry events and merchant meetings
  • Recommend improvements to enhance overall marketplace performance

What We're Looking For

  • Experience within a marketplace or e-commerce environment
  • Background in business development and seller acquisition
  • Experience with platforms such as Amazon, Allegro, or similar
  • Fluent German (spoken and written)
  • Strong understanding of e-commerce and marketplace models
  • Comfortable working with data (Excel / CSV)
  • Experience with tools such as Mirakl, Salesforce, or similar
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
