I am currently on the look for a Technical Consultant to join a leading organisation based within the Oxfordshire area. Within this role, you will be responsible for the delivery of technical pre-sales support as well as producing solution proposals and solution designs. The ideal candidate for the position must have previously worked within pre-sales or a customer-facing project delivery within an MSP.
Salary: 70,000.00 per annum
Location: Oxfordshire (Twice a week on client site)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a mix of chargeable and complimentary technical pre-sales support to both prospective and existing customers.
- Establish and maintain strong technical relationships, acting as a trusted advisor throughout the customer lifecycle.
- Partner with sales teams to deliver customer-facing technical expertise during meetings, discovery workshops, and opportunity qualification.
- Create and deliver clear, engaging product presentations and demonstrations, supporting both internal and external events and webinars.
- Design and deliver tailored demonstrations and proof-of-concept engagements to validate proposed solutions.
- Assess and compare alternative solutions to identify and recommend the most suitable option for each customer scenario.
- Contribute to the definition of technical solutions and support the development of high-quality proposals, scopes of work, and tender submissions.
Key Skills:
- Technical consultancy, pre-sales, or customer-facing project delivery experience within an MSP or IT reseller (essential).
- Proven experience across IT infrastructure and IT services technologies.
- Strong proposal and tender-writing skills, with the ability to produce high-quality customer-facing documentation.
- Formal technical qualifications in one or more of the following: Cisco, Fortinet, VMware, Sophos, Microsoft, N-Able, Mimecast, Barracuda, or similar industry-recognised certifications desirable.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance technical depth and business value.
- Excellent presentation and demonstration skills.
- Exceptional organisational and time-management capabilities.
- Strong listening skills with the ability to understand and translate customer requirements.
- Ability to explain and present technical solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
