A government organisation is looking for a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to support a major cloud transformation programme focused on Azure platform engineering, cloud adoption and application migration. This is an initial six month contract based at Hanslope Park, Milton Keynes, with a minimum onsite requirement of 3 days per week. Candidates must be British citizens or dual nationals and eligible to obtain SC clearance. Candidates must also have lived in the UK for at least two of the last five years.
Role Overview
Working within a dedicated Cloud Platforms team, you'll be responsible for designing, building and supporting Azure cloud services whilst helping migrate applications and services from legacy environments into secure cloud platforms. The role combines hands-on platform engineering, cloud migration and DevSecOps delivery. You'll work across the full lifecycle, from discovery and assessment through to landing zone design, deployment automation, operational support and ongoing optimisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain Azure cloud platforms and services
- Deliver cloud readiness assessments and migration activities
- Develop Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Bicep
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps tooling
- Design and implement Azure landing zones
- Support Kubernetes, container and serverless workloads
- Implement monitoring, logging and security solutions
- Manage cloud networking including virtual networks, service endpoints and firewalls
- Provide technical consultancy to project and delivery stakeholders
- Support operational issues, major incident resolution and service improvements
