The predicted salary is between 60000 - 90000 £ per year.

£700-750 p/d - Umbrella engagement - 6 month initial contract but highly likely to be extended as the project is in delivery phase and there is another 12-18 months of work in the pipeline.

Overview: We are supporting a brilliant retail organisation undergoing a large-scale ERP transformation, implementing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O) as part of a broader modernisation of core business systems. You will be joining a high performing, close-knit and friendly Architecture practice to help drive this transformation forward. We are looking for an experienced ERP Solution Architect to play a key role in shaping the end-to-end ERP architecture, ensuring that D365 F&O integrates effectively across finance, supply chain, retail operations, and surrounding enterprise platforms. This role will work closely with business stakeholders, programme leadership, product owners, delivery teams, and technical engineers to ensure the solution design supports both current operational needs and the organisation's long-term technology strategy.

Role Responsibilities

  • Solution Architecture & Design
    • Play a key role in shaping, designing and delivering solution architecture for the ERP platform, with a strong focus on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
    • Design scalable, secure and maintainable ERP solutions that support retail operations including finance, supply chain, inventory and commercial processes.
    • Provide architecture governance and design assurance across the ERP transformation programme.
    • Translate business requirements into technical architecture designs, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards.
  • ERP Transformation Delivery
    • Support the organisation through the implementation and rollout of D365 F&O, ensuring the architecture supports programme objectives.
    • Work closely with implementation partners and internal delivery teams to validate designs and guide technical decision making.
    • Ensure solution designs support retail operational processes, including merchandising, inventory management, purchasing and finance.
    • Lead design workshops and provide architectural input during solution design, build and integration phases.
  • Integration & System Landscape
    • Design and oversee integration architecture between D365 and surrounding enterprise systems.
    • Ensure the ERP ecosystem supports data consistency, operational efficiency and reporting requirements.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Act as a trusted advisor to senior business and technology stakeholders throughout the ERP transformation.
    • Work closely with programme leadership, product owners, and engineering teams to ensure delivery aligns with the architecture vision.
    • Provide technical leadership and guidance across development and implementation teams.
  • Governance & Best Practice
    • Ensure ERP solutions adhere to Microsoft best practices and architectural standards.
    • Manage technical risk, dependencies and architectural trade-offs during delivery.
    • Support the definition of ERP architecture principles, patterns and documentation.

Key Skills & Experience

  • High level Significant ERP / D365 Architectural experience.
  • Strong leadership in stakeholder engagement and influence, orchestrating colleague collaboration to support architectural decisions.
  • Skilled in clarifying complex technical terms, adeptly presenting sophisticated IT concepts to non-technical audiences to support clear understanding and informed decision-making.
  • Extensive experience of architecting ERP solutions that span business, data, applications, and technology domains.
  • Possesses a strategic interest in diverse IT technologies and their impact on business innovation and efficiency.

Detailed level of experience:

  • ERP & Dynamics 365 Expertise
    • Strong experience working as a Solution Architect within ERP transformation programmes.
    • Deep knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O) architecture and capabilities.
    • Experience delivering end-to-end ERP implementations or migrations within complex organisations.
  • Architecture & Integration
    • Proven experience designing enterprise-level solution architectures across complex system landscapes.
    • Experience designing system integrations between ERP platforms and surrounding enterprise applications.
    • Strong understanding of data flows, APIs, integration middleware and system interoperability.
