Overview

Sanderson Recruitment are partnering with a public sector organisation as they embark on a programme of transformation, modernising legacy environments across 4 key workstreams. As part of this programme of transformation, we are looking to hire a Linux System Administrator with experience of implementing Suse Multi Linux Manager (SMLM) in a complex enterprise environment consisting of Linux and Windows Servers. Working as part of a team responsible for modernising the infrastructure estate, you'll lead the rollout of SMLM across hundreds of Linux virtual machines, helping to automate patching, improve configuration management, and reduce manual administration overhead. This is not a greenfield environment, so we're particularly interested in candidates who have previously implemented SUSE Manager/SMLM alongside existing SaltStack and automation tooling. The piece of work is due to run for 2-3 years with contracts being split into 12-month increments.

Experience Required

  • Hands-on experience with SUSE Manager / SUSE Multi-Linux Manager (SMLM)
  • Linux systems administration (SUSE, Red Hat or similar)
  • SaltStack and configuration management
  • Linux patching, lifecycle management and automation
  • Virtualised server environments
  • Experience supporting technologies such as Docker, Oracle, MySQL or MariaDB
