We are looking for an experienced Procurement Manager, for our consultancy client, to lead a small procurement team and provide end-to-end procurement support to a large, complex business environment.
The role
You will be responsible for delivering procurement ownership across a wide range of products and services. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will help shape procurement strategy, manage supplier relationships, and drive commercial value through effective sourcing, negotiation and contract management. This role requires someone confident operating at senior level, able to challenge the business constructively and ensure procurement best practice is embedded across supplier engagements.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and develop a small procurement team
- Develop and implement procurement strategy and ways of working
- Manage supplier sourcing, tendering and appointment processes
- Lead commercial and contractual negotiations to deliver value and savings
- Use spend and supplier data to identify optimisation and consolidation opportunities
- Ensure adherence to procurement policies, controls and governance
- Assess and manage supplier and procurement risk
- Build and maintain strong, productive supplier relationships
- Provide regular reporting and updates to senior stakeholders
About you
- Strong experience in procurement at a management level
- Proven track record of complex commercial and contract negotiations
- Solid knowledge of procurement processes from sourcing through to supplier management
- Confident stakeholder manager, able to influence and challenge at senior levels
- Experienced people manager who can develop and motivate a team
- Commercially astute, analytical and outcome-focused
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, complex organisation
