Sanderson Recruitment are working with a long-term partner within the cloud and network infrastructure space, as they look to hire an IT Project Engineer. This is a great opportunity to join a company who have experienced sustained growth over several years. This role will give you the opportunity to work on the implementation of client projects of varying complexity across networking, virtualisation and cloud platforms. You will work alongside a high-performing project delivery team to deliver pre-scoped and defined infrastructure solutions.

This is an incredibly varied role, which is perfect for someone who enjoys working in a project-driven environment. There won’t be any BAU / support responsibilities in this role, it’s all about delivering the next generation of infrastructure for end clients. You will work closely with project managers, various internal technology teams (Infrastructure, Dev, Cloud, Test) as well as engaging with external 3rd party vendors when required.

You can expect to be involved in:

  • Installation, configuration, and upgrade of Windows & Linux Server environments.
  • Implementing and supporting network changes including switches, firewalls, VLANs, and wireless networks.
  • Production and maintenance of technical documentation, build guides, and network diagrams.
  • Testing, validation, and handover of infrastructure changes into BAU support.

Required Skills

This is a hands-on technical engineering role which requires past experience working in a similar role. The core skills experience required are:

  • Windows Server 2019, 2022, 2025.
  • Linux operating systems (experience with Ubuntu, Rocky Linux, CentOS, and Red Hat preferred).
  • History of using and supporting virtualisation platforms such as VMware, vSphere/ESXi.
  • Cisco networking, including NX-OS.
