Position: 2nd Line Desktop Engineer

Location: Durham

Type: Contract - Outside IR35

Overview: A leading business based in Durham is seeking a skilled 2nd Line Desktop Engineer to join their IT team. The ideal candidate will handle 1st and 2nd line desktop support issues and contribute to various ongoing IT projects. You will support and troubleshoot both hardware and software issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1st and 2nd line desktop support to end-users.
  • Assist in the installation, configuration, and support of Windows operating systems (Windows 10 and Windows 11) on laptops.
  • O365 support and user admin.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve desktop operating system issues on laptops.
  • Swap out machines and address any ongoing technical issues for users.
  • Contribute to the rollout of Windows operating systems.
  • Hardware support, Printers, laptops etc.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in desktop support, particularly 2nd line support.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows 10 or Windows 11 operating systems.
  • Experience with Windows 10 rollout projects is acceptable; experience with Windows 11 is a plus.
  • Proficiency in installing, configuring, and supporting Windows operating systems on laptops.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
