This role sits within a specialist engineering team delivering secure, enterprise-scale cloud and data platforms for UK Government and defence clients. The work focuses on modernising data infrastructure, enabling secure data sharing, and supporting advanced analytics and AI workloads in highly regulated environments. Projects range from shorter delivery engagements to long-term platform builds, delivered within agile teams solving complex, real-world challenges.
The role
As a Lead DevOps Engineer, you'll take a hands-on role in designing, building and operating secure cloud environments that support both batch and real-time data platforms. Alongside this, you'll act as a technical lead within the team, helping to shape engineering standards, support delivery, and mentor other engineers. You'll be involved across the full lifecycle, from design and build through to deployment, optimisation and ongoing support, with a strong focus on automation, security and reliability.
