Job Description
Virtualisation Engineer
Salary up to £60,000 + £15,000 in additional bonus
Cheltenham (flexible working available while clearance is processed)
Must be eligible for high-level UK Government Clearance
Sanderson Government and Defence are working with a major global technology provider supporting secure UK Government programmes.
We're looking for a Virtualisation Engineer with strong Wintel and virtualisation experience, who either holds or is eligible for high-level UK Government Clearance. This is a great opportunity to join a team delivering mission-critical services in secure environments, with a strong focus on innovation, collaboration, and continual improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1st to 3rd line technical support across virtualised environments
- Monitor system performance and ensure smooth functionality
- Create and maintain technical documentation
- Support compliance with internal processes and policies
What We're Looking For:

- Windows Server (2016/2019), Active Directory, DFS
- Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure
- Red Hat technologies: Satellite 6, OpenShift 3/4, RHEL/CentOS
- Networking: TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, LAN/WAN
- Scripting: PowerShell, Bash, Python, Git
- Security tools: McAfee EPO/ENS
