Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Solution Architect to join a leading defence and security organisation, supporting a major programme within the Maritime Engineering and Logistics domain. This role is focused on designing and delivering innovative solutions for the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD), contributing to mission-critical systems and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and evolve system architecture for Maritime programmes, ensuring alignment with user needs and system requirements.
- Integrate Maritime Systems architecture with broader enterprise architecture across the programme.
- Conduct design impact assessments and trade-off analyses.
- Maintain and present design baselines at solution coherence reviews.
- Support the development of system verification and user validation test plans.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
- Strong understanding of MOD maintenance, equipment, and engineering processes.
- Familiarity with MOD standards including DEFSTAN and JSP.
- Experience in cloud architecture, preferably Microsoft Azure.
- Proficiency with enterprise architecture modelling tools (eg, Sparx EA, Mega, iServer).
- Knowledge of MOD Secure by Design principles.
- Proven ability to work independently in a matrixed organisation.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
- Experience in consultancy approaches and delivery methodologies (eg, waterfall, agile, DevOps).
